National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Formula Program
The National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program will provide $5 billion over five years to help states create a network of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations along designated Alternative Fuel Corridors, particularly along the Interstate Highway System, including Puerto Rico.
Why NEVI is important to Puerto Rico?
The N.E.V.I funds are playing a crucial role in the development of Puerto Rico’s Electrical Vehicle infrastructure. By providing financial support for the construction of EV charging stations, these funds are helping to increase the accessibility and convenience of EVs for Puerto Rican residents and visitors alike. This is important not only for the environmental benefits of reducing emissions and dependence on fossil fuels, but also for the economic benefits of attracting tourism and investment in sustainable infrastructure. Combining the support of the N.E.V.I funds with the private sector Puerto Rico will be on track to becoming a leader in the adoption and advancement of Electric Vehicles in the Caribbean region.
What is NEVI?
- The National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program will provide $5 billion over five years to help states create a network of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations along designated Alternative Fuel Corridors, particularly along the Interstate Highway System.
- NEVI was established as part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) of 2021, also known as the Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act (“IIJA”).
- The program will also establish an interconnected network to facilitate data collection, access, and reliability.
- In order to qualify for program funding, each state and territory is required to submit an EV Infrastructure Deployment Plan (EVIDP) to the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) newly formed Joint Office for “review and public posting” describing how the state intends to distribute NEVI funds.

Our four stations receive a total of 6,000 estimated average visits.
EV users organize their charge sessions around their needs or desires.
Level 3 drives the most traffic in each station. At the same time, level 2 chargers are frequent requested by Hybrid Plug-in users.
First users invest more time in setup the app and the payment methods. The average is held for around 2 minutes the second time and further.
Our four public stations are located in shopping malls providing popular amenities.
